Hosting and server log files

This site is hosted on a content delivery network. When you request a page, the hosting provider processes technical connection data: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the referring address, browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the page and to keep the service secure. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating the site reliably. These logs are not merged with other data and are deleted after a short retention period at the provider.

Fonts

Typefaces are served from this domain. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other external font service, so no data is transmitted to a third party when the page renders.

Contact form

The contact form is processed by Web3Forms (Web3Forms, operated by Sacred Media LLC). The data you enter – name, email address, subject, the page concerned and your message – is transmitted to that service and forwarded to us by email. We use it only to answer your enquiry. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR for your consent and Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR for handling the enquiry itself. We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to meet any retention obligation, then delete it.

The form also contains a hidden field that is invisible to people and is used to detect automated submissions. If you prefer not to use the form, plain email to the address above reaches us the same way.

Analytics and advertising

This site uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4. Both services are provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics 4 measures how the site is used, for example which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive and how long they stay. For this, cookies are set and usage data such as device and browser details, pages viewed and referring addresses is processed; Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving it. Advertising and personalisation signals are switched off (Google Consent Mode). Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months. You can object at any time, for example by blocking cookies in your browser or with Google'sopt-out browser add-on.

Google AdSense is not active on this site. If that changes, this notice will be updated beforehand.

We also plan to embed map and booking widgets from partners on some travel pages, for example for accommodation or guided tours. These are not active either. Before activation, this notice will name the provider, the data processed and the legal basis.

Outgoing partner links

Some links to vendors are partner links. Following one takes you through an intermediate page on this domain, which then forwards you to the vendor. Neither that page nor we set a cookie for the purpose. The vendor and the affiliate network may set their own cookies once you arrive; the vendor's own privacy notice applies from that point.

Local storage in your browser

The site search loads an index file and keeps it in memory for the duration of your visit. No cookie is set for it and nothing is stored permanently on your device.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; for the controller named above this is the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Cyprus, and you may also complain to the authority where you live.
